Seismology Postdoc at University of New Mexico



A postdoctoral position in seismology is available at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque. The initial appointment would be for one year with opportunity to extend for a second year. The primary research direction will be investigation of seismic source processes using exceptionally dense recordings of volcanic earthquakes and controlled explosions, and evaluation of methods to quantitatively discriminate between these source types based on waveform data. The postdoctoral researcher would have regular interactions with a faculty mentor (Brandon Schmandt), graduate students and other postdoctoral geophysicists at UNM.
